Questions and answers

Getting started

What does SocioRelay do?

You write a post once. The agent publishes a suitable version on every platform you use (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest and Google Business Profile), each at its own time. It can also publish blog articles to your website, plan topics for your industry, alert you if anything fails and send a weekly results report.

Which businesses is it for?

Any business: there are topic ideas, seasonal dates, platforms, posting times and advertising notes for 56 industries, from accountants, solicitors and dentists to salons, restaurants, trades, charities, vets and driving schools, plus "Other" for everyone else. Choose your industry in Business and platforms.

What do I need?

A web browser on any computer, tablet or phone, and the business accounts on each platform you want to use. Nothing to install: your app runs on our UK servers, and you connect each platform by pressing Log in in Connections. See guide 31.

How long does setup take?

About 10 minutes to sign in, then 15 to 30 minutes per platform. Some platforms (LinkedIn company pages, Pinterest, Google Business Profile) need approval, which can take days; you can start with the others meanwhile.

Do I need to use every platform?

No. Tick only the platforms you want in Business and platforms. Nothing is ever made for a platform that is switched off.

Does my computer need to be on?

No. Your app runs on our UK servers and posts every 30 minutes, whether or not you are signed in or your computer is on.

Licence and plan

How many businesses and accounts can I use?

Each plan gives your business one app and a set number of social accounts: 2 on Lite, 4 on Starter, 10 on Growth and 25 on Pro. A social account is each place you post to, such as a Facebook Page, an Instagram profile or a Google Business Profile location, on any platforms in your plan. An account is counted the first time your app posts to it. When all are in use you can swap one for another once a month, or add extra social accounts at £2.50 a month each.

Can I use one licence for several businesses?

Yes, for businesses you own or control: their accounts simply count towards your plan's social accounts, and they share one app and its settings (one industry, one website and one topic planner). To keep separate businesses apart, give each its own plan. Posting for clients needs the Agency plan, which gives each client business its own app.

What does my plan include?

Open Licence and plan. It lists every platform and feature, and whether it is included. Platforms outside your plan show a 🔒 and are never posted to.

How do I add a platform?

Press Buy or add platforms, add it to your subscription, then press Check licence now. It unlocks straight away. Then switch it on in Business and platforms and connect it in Connections.

What happens if I am offline?

Your app runs on our servers, so it keeps posting whether or not you are online. It checks your plan with sociorelay.com once a day; if it can't for 7 days in a row (very unlikely), posting pauses until it can. Your posts wait in the queue; nothing is lost.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel at any time in Manage subscription, in two clicks, with no minimum term. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Then posting pauses and your app is kept for 30 days (ask for an export if you want one); after that it is deleted. New customers can ask for their first payment back within 14 days.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: 14 days of everything in the Growth plan, with no card needed. Start it at https://sociorelay.com/signup and we set up your app, usually within a few minutes. Nothing is charged; when it ends, posting pauses until you choose a plan.

Which plan should I choose?

Lite for 2 social accounts. Starter for up to 4. Growth for up to 10 on every platform, plus your website blog and newsletter (most businesses). Pro for up to 25 accounts, two-step approvals and priority support. Agency if you post for clients. See 27 Licence and plan.

Will the price change?

We aim to keep your price the same for 12 months after you subscribe. If our own costs for AI or platform access rise sharply, we may adjust credits, allowances or prices sooner, always with at least 30 days' notice, and you can cancel before the change applies (yearly plans get the unused months back). Any other change is announced at least 30 days ahead too.

I'm on Agency. Can one client have more than 10 social accounts?

Yes. Buy extra social accounts (£2.50 a month each) in Plan and billing, then in Your apps type how many to give each client app and press Save. Only that client's app gets them; your other clients stay at 10. Extra X posting works the same way. You can move them between clients at any time.

Writing and scheduling

How do I schedule a post?

Open Write a post, write the text, add an image if you have one, choose the date and time, tick the platforms and press Schedule. The preview shows exactly what each platform will receive.

Can each platform post at a different time?

Yes. In Business and platforms, give each platform its own time (or 'Same as post') and the days it posts on. When writing a post you can also change any platform's time for that post only.

Why didn't my post go to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Pinterest?

These platforms need an image. Posts without an image only go to the platforms that accept text posts. Also check the platform posts on that weekday (its days in Business and platforms).

What image size should I use?

1080 x 1350 pixels (portrait, 4:5) for posts. Blog header images: 1200 x 630. PNG or JPG under 8 MB.

How do different platforms get different text?

The agent shortens and adapts automatically: X gets up to 275 characters, Bluesky 300, Threads 500, Instagram gets 'link in bio' instead of links plus your hashtags, Facebook keeps two hashtags, TikTok and YouTube get short captions and titles.

Can I change or cancel a scheduled post?

Yes. Open Scheduled posts, click the post, then change its time (the whole post or one platform), edit a platform's text, cancel it, or publish it now.

What are the writing checks?

Before a post is scheduled it is checked against your style rules (sentence length, paragraph length, words never to use, dashes). Change these in Business and platforms > Writing style checks.

Can it write posts for me?

Yes, optionally. Choose an AI in Connections > AI writing: AI credits (no account needed, if your plan offers them), Claude, ChatGPT models, Gemini, other services such as Mistral or DeepSeek, or a free local AI (Ollama). A Draft with AI button then appears. Always read and edit drafts.

Can I upload a month of posts at once?

Yes: Write a post > Bulk upload from a spreadsheet. Download the template, fill one row per post, save as CSV and upload. Every row is checked before anything is scheduled. See 29 Bulk upload, repeating posts and news feeds.

Can a post repeat automatically?

Yes. Choose Repeat: every N weeks when you schedule it. After each round goes out, the next is scheduled. Cancel the next round to stop.

Can I copy an old post?

Open it in Scheduled posts (History for old ones) and press Duplicate.

Topics

How does the topic planner work?

Choose your industry and areas of interest. The planner arranges topics on a calendar for the weeks and days you choose, taking turns between themes and adding seasonal dates (for example tax deadlines for accountants, Valentine's Day for restaurants). Press Write on any topic to open it in the editor.

Can I add my own topics or industry?

Yes. Add your own ideas under Your own topic ideas in Business and platforms. With 56 industries listed, most businesses are covered; if yours isn't, choose the closest or "Other" and email us to suggest it.

What are the advertising notes?

Some industries have advertising rules (for example prescription medicines in aesthetics, before-and-after photos in dentistry, alcohol for restaurants). The planner shows reminders. They are general guidance, not legal advice: check your regulator's current rules.

We're a regulated business. What does SocioRelay do differently?

Three things. Regulatory wording: add the wording you must show (for example your FCA, SRA or CQC registration) in Business and platforms > Regulatory wording, with suggestions for your industry, and it is added to every post and article when published. Checked sources: AI blog articles are written only from pages the app has opened and checked on official websites for your industry (for example the FCA and MoneyHelper for finance, the SRA for law, the NHS and CQC for health); each claim links to its page and a Sources list is added. If no checked page can be found, no article is written. You can add your own trusted websites, such as a regulator outside the UK. No fully automatic posting for finance, health, legal and property businesses. These help, but you still check every claim before approving.

Can it suggest posts from news or my own blog?

Yes. Add news feed (RSS) addresses in the Topic planner. New articles appear as ideas to share, with a link. Nothing is posted until you write and schedule it.

Blog

Which websites can it publish blog articles to?

Automatically: WordPress (any theme), Ghost, Shopify, Webflow, Blogger, Wix, HubSpot, Joomla, Drupal, BigCommerce, and static sites built with Hugo, Jekyll, Astro, Eleventy, Gatsby or Next.js (through GitHub). For Squarespace, Weebly, GoDaddy and other builders without a blog API, it prepares a ready-to-paste export; press Mark as live once pasted and the promotion posts go out. The website's theme or template does not matter.

How does blog publishing work?

Write the article in Blog > New article, save, press Check, then Approve. It publishes at its 'Goes live' time. If you added a promotion post, it goes out on your social platforms that day, linking to the article.

Can SocioRelay make a monthly newsletter?

Yes. In Blog > Monthly newsletter, choose a month and press Write it now with AI. The AI writes a round-up of what you posted that month, using only your own posts and articles (nothing new is added), and links to the month's articles. It is saved as a draft article for you to check. When you approve it, it goes live on your website and a post linking to it goes out on your platforms (on Facebook it uses one of your link posts for the month). Tick Draft last month's newsletter for me automatically and we email you each month when it is ready to check. It needs your website blog (Growth, Pro, Agency, or the blog add-on) and about 3 AI credits.

Is my website safe?

The agent only adds new articles. It checks every article first and refuses to publish one whose web address already exists. For custom sites, the live blog is backed up before every change.

Does it matter which theme or template my website uses?

No. The agent talks to your blogging system (WordPress, Wix, Shopify...), not to the design. Your theme decides how the article looks, exactly as if you had typed it in yourself.

Platforms and logins

Do I need developer apps or keys?

No. SocioRelay has its own approved connection to each platform, so you just press Log in in Connections. While a platform is still reviewing our app, it's in early access: email us and we'll switch it on for your account, usually the same day. Big users can still connect their own developer app instead (each guide shows how).

How often do I need to log in again?

LinkedIn: every 60 days (you get an alert 10 days before). Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Google and Bluesky renew themselves, unless you change the account password or remove the app.

Does X cost money?

X charges for every post, and posts with links cost X more than 13 times as much. When you use SocioRelay's own X connection, each plan includes a monthly X allowance (about 200 posts a month on Growth) and X posting pauses at the allowance while your other platforms carry on; add Extra X posting for more. If you connect your own X developer account, X bills you directly. In Business and platforms > Extras you can set a lower cap.

My regulatory wording makes an X post too long. What happens?

Nothing for you to do. Your regulatory wording is always kept in full, so when it pushes the X version over 280 characters the app shortens the rest of the post itself: it drops whole paragraphs first, then whole words, keeping your link and hashtags. It only cuts; it never rewrites. If the wording alone is too long for X, you are asked to shorten the wording in Business and platforms > Regulatory wording.

Why did my Facebook post go out without its link?

Since autumn 2026 Facebook limits how many posts with links a business Page can make each month unless it pays for Meta One (2 a month on the free allowance; it is rolling out Page by Page). SocioRelay counts your Facebook link posts each month. Once the allowance is used, the Facebook copy goes out without the link and ends with a line such as "Find the link in our Page's About section" instead, so the post still goes out. Set your allowance (2, 8, 20, no limit or never) and that line in Business and platforms > Extras. Other platforms are not affected.

Why does TikTok send drafts instead of posting?

Posting to TikTok fully automatically needs TikTok's app audit, which is rarely given to single businesses. The agent sends each day's video (with music) to your TikTok inbox; you paste the caption and tap Post. About a minute a day.

What music goes on my TikTok and YouTube videos? Can I use my own?

Videos use SocioRelay's own music (Calm, Upbeat, Warm or Bright), which we own and which you can use free in your business videos, including ads. Choose the default in Business and platforms > Extras, or a different track for one post in Write a post. You can also upload your own music there, but only music you made or hold a licence for business videos (for example from Epidemic Sound or Artlist). A song you bought or stream is not allowed: TikTok mutes such videos and YouTube can block them or give your channel a copyright strike. You confirm your rights when you upload, and we keep a record. In TikTok you can also swap the sound for one from TikTok's Commercial Music Library before posting.

Why are my pins not appearing on Pinterest?

New Pinterest apps start with Trial access, which cannot publish pins. Pins wait in the queue until Pinterest approves Standard access (see the Pinterest guide), then go out.

Can I run several brands or businesses?

Yes. Every connected account counts towards your plan's social accounts, so a second shop's Facebook Page or Instagram is simply another account. Extra brands in one app share the main brand's LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest, with their own Facebook Page, Instagram, X, Threads and Bluesky. For businesses that need their own settings, website or topics, give each its own plan; the Agency plan covers 10 client businesses.

Alerts, reports and problems

How will I know if something goes wrong?

An email alert is sent if a post fails, gets stuck or is late, if a login is about to expire, or if a platform is switched on but not connected. The Home page lists recent alerts.

What is in the weekly report?

Every Monday: followers and the change since last week, what was posted on each platform, blog articles published, and your best posts with likes, comments, shares and views. Open Reports. The Reports page also draws charts of followers, posts per week and likes, comments and shares per post.

What is the best time to post?

Open Reports > Best time to post. Once a platform has 10 published posts with stats, the agent shows the time and weekday your posts there got the most likes, comments and shares. Until then it shows the usual time for your industry. Press Use this time to post at that time from now on; the days you post on do not change. LinkedIn, X and TikTok do not share stats with the agent, so they show the industry time.

A post failed. What do I do?

Open Scheduled posts > History, click the post to read the reason, fix it (often a login or a missing image), then press Try again. The Alerts guide lists common problems and fixes.

How do I report a problem?

Press Get help in the app, say what happened and send it. The app attaches details that help us find the problem (app version, which platforms are connected, recent failed posts and error messages), with passwords and keys removed, and shows you exactly what is sent first. You get a reference number and we reply by email. Or email info@sociorelay.com.

Nothing is posting at all.

Check Home for alerts, and Licence and plan to make sure your plan is active. Press Publish anything due now on the Home page to test. Still stuck? Email us: we can see whether your app's timetable is running.

Is my data safe?

Your app has its own storage on our UK servers, and keys and logins are encrypted with a key for your business alone. Sign-in needs your password and a 6-digit code. We only open your app to help you when you ask. See guide 28.

How do I leave and delete my data?

Cancel your plan, or close your account in Settings at sociorelay.com. Your app is kept for 30 days (ask for an export), then deleted. See https://sociorelay.com/data-deletion.

AI, security and plans

Do I need my own AI account?

No. You can use AI credits from your plan (no account needed), bring your own key from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Google (Gemini) or another service, run a free local AI with Ollama, or not use AI at all. See guide 18.

Is a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription enough?

No. Those are chat apps. The agent needs a developer API key, which is billed separately by usage (usually well under 1p per post).

Is it secure?

Your app runs on our UK servers with its own storage, logins are encrypted with your business's own key, sign-in needs a 6-digit code, and posts go from your app to each platform through their official APIs. See guide 28.

Is there a free plan?

No: every app runs on our servers, so we offer a 14-day free trial of Growth instead (with up to 14 X posts, because X charges us for every post), with no card needed. Plans start at £6 a month.

Can I use it on my phone or another computer?

Yes. Open your app's address in any browser and sign in. Nothing is stored on the device.

Images, approvals and your account

Where can I get images I'm allowed to use?

In Write a post press Find a free photo (free stock photos from Pexels or Pixabay: free for business use, no credit needed) or Create an image with AI (4 AI credits; you own the image). Your own photos are fine if you took them or have permission. See guide 30.

Can I put a headline on a photo?

Yes. Choose the post's image, then press Make a banner in Write a post. Type a headline and an optional second line, or press Suggest words with AI to get them from your post. The app sets the words on the photo in your brand colours, with your logo and website, made automatically in the right shape for each platform the post goes to (portrait for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Threads; landscape for X, Bluesky and Google; TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest keep the plain photo because they add their own words). You can also choose one shape for everything. The lettering is drawn by the app rather than an image AI, so it is always sharp and spelt exactly as you typed it. See guide 30.

Can someone approve posts before they go out?

Yes. Tick Approvals in Business and platforms: new posts then wait in Scheduled posts until you approve them, or until a client or manager approves them on a private review link (no account needed). See guide 30.

Is SocioRelay accessible?

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. The app and website work with a keyboard and screen readers, show clear focus, announce messages and page changes, and work zoomed to 200% and on phones. See our accessibility statement at https://sociorelay.com/accessibility, and tell us about anything that gets in your way.

How do AI credits work?

Paid plans include credits every month (Lite 5, Starter 20, Growth 60, Pro 150; the trial 20). A post uses about 1, an article about 3, an AI image 4. Packs of 100 (£4) or 500 (£15) are in your account at sociorelay.com. Or use your own AI key. See guide 18.

Where do I manage my plan and invoices?

In your account at https://sociorelay.com/account: your apps, Plan and billing (change plan, add-ons, setup and website help, card, invoices, cancelling), AI credits, client review links and API keys.

How do I update the app?

You don't need to: we update your app for you, usually overnight. Home lists what changed.
