AI writing
Adds Draft with AI buttons to Write a post and to blog articles. Drafts use your business details, industry, writing rules and advertising notes. You always read and edit before anything is scheduled.
Choose one way:
| Option | You need | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| SocioRelay AI credits (paid plans and the free trial) | Nothing: uses your licence | Included every month (Lite 5, Starter 20, Growth 60, Pro 150, trial 20); packs of 100 for £4 or 500 for £15 in your account |
| Claude (Anthropic) | An Anthropic API key | Pay-as-you-go to Anthropic |
| ChatGPT models (OpenAI) | An OpenAI API key | Pay-as-you-go to OpenAI |
| Gemini (Google) | A Google AI Studio key | Free allowance, then pay-as-you-go |
| Other service: Mistral, Groq, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Together, Azure OpenAI | That service's key and its API address | Their prices |
| Your own AI server: Ollama, LM Studio or similar, reachable at an internet address | A server you run | Your server's cost |
A post draft usually costs well under 1p with your own key. A ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro or Gemini app subscription is not the same as an API key: you need a developer API key from the links below.
Option A: SocioRelay AI credits (ready from the start)
- Nothing to set up: your app writes with your plan's AI credits from day one. Connections > AI writing shows AI credits from your plan; press Test AI to try it.
- A post uses about 1 credit, an article about 3, an AI image 4. Your plan's credits arrive on the 1st of each month and are used first; they don't carry over.
- Licence and plan shows how many are left. Need more? Buy AI credits opens your account at sociorelay.com: packs are shared by all your apps and last 12 months.
- Credits come with every plan and the free trial. You can also use your own key (Option B or C).
Option B: your own key
- Create a key:
- Claude: https://console.anthropic.com > Settings > API keys > Create key (add billing credit first).
- OpenAI: https://platform.openai.com/api-keys > Create new secret key (add billing credit first).
- Gemini: https://aistudio.google.com > Get API key > Create API key.
- Other service: in that service's dashboard; note its API address, for example
https://api.mistral.ai/v1,https://api.groq.com/openai/v1,https://api.deepseek.com/v1,https://openrouter.ai/api/v1.
- Connections > AI writing: paste the key into its box.
- AI provider: choose it. Base address: only for "Other service".
- Press Save keys, then List available models and pick one in the Model box (or type a model name). Press Save keys again. Tip: a smaller, cheaper model is usually fine for social posts.
Option C: free local AI (Ollama)
- Install Ollama from https://ollama.com and run, in a terminal:
ollama pull llama3.1(or another model). - Connections > AI writing: AI provider: Other service. Base address: your server's address, for example
https://ai.yourbusiness.com/v1. Leave the key empty. - Model:
llama3.1(or the one you pulled). Press Save keys.
Who is responsible for AI content
The app only connects your chosen AI provider with your platforms. The wording and content of drafts come from the AI provider, not from us, and we are not responsible for them. Always check facts, prices and claims: you approve and are responsible for everything that is published.
Using it well
- Start from a topic in the Topic planner and press Write: the topic goes to the AI.
- Press Draft with AI, then add real details: prices, names, photos, offers.
- The AI is told not to invent prices, numbers or reviews and to write [PRICE], [NUMBER] or [NAME] instead, but it can still make mistakes: check every fact.
- Press Check writing before scheduling. Notes in red must be fixed (for example a [PRICE] left in, a banned word or a dash); tips about long sentences or paragraphs are advice and don't stop the post.
Good to know
- Set a monthly spending limit in your AI provider's dashboard.
- To stop using AI, choose None as the provider and save. To go back to AI credits, choose SocioRelay AI credits.
- Your posts are sent to the AI provider you choose to write the draft; check their privacy terms if this matters to you.
Regulated businesses: checked sources
- If your industry is regulated (for example financial advice, mortgages, legal, health, care, childcare, immigration advice), Draft with AI for a blog article first finds pages on official websites for your industry, such as GOV.UK, the FCA, MoneyHelper, the SRA, the NHS, CQC or Ofsted. The app opens each page itself and uses only pages that exist and are about the topic.
- The article is written only from those pages. Each claim links to its page, and a Sources list with the date checked is added at the end, with a line saying it is general information, not advice.
- If no checked page can be found, no article is written: try a more specific topic, or write it yourself.
- Add your own trusted websites (for example a regulator outside the UK) in **Business and platforms > Regulatory wording > Your own trusted websites**. Any business can list trusted websites to get the same checks.
- Writing from sources takes a minute longer. Still read each claim against its source before you approve.
