Images, approvals and client review

Time: 5 minutes. You need: a licence (free trial or paid plan) for free photo search, AI images and review links, or your own Pexels and OpenAI keys for the images on any plan.

Free photos

  1. In Write a post, under Image, press Find a free photo.
  2. Type what it should show (for example "barista pouring coffee") and choose a shape: Portrait suits Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest; Landscape suits LinkedIn, Facebook and blogs.
  3. Click a photo. It is saved in your image library and added to the post, with the photographer's name recorded.
  4. Photos come from Pexels or Pixabay (the search shows which): free to use for business, including social media and ads, with no credit needed. Don't suggest that people in a photo endorse your business, don't use photos showing other brands' logos for your business, and don't use a photo in a logo or trade mark.

Banners: words on a picture

  1. Choose the post's image first (a free photo, an upload or an AI image), then press Make a banner.
  2. The headline starts as your topic's heading (or the first words of your post). Change it if you like (up to about 7 words), add an optional second line, or press Suggest words with AI to get them from your post (about 1 AI credit). The AI only uses what is in your post.
  3. Leave The right shape for each platform automatically ticked: when the post is scheduled, each platform gets its own banner (portrait for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Threads; landscape for X, Bluesky and Google). TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest use the plain photo, because their videos and pins add their own words. Untick it to choose one shape for everything. Choose the layout, then press Preview (the portrait version is shown).
  4. Press Use this banner. It is added to the post, with your brand colours, logo and website. The photo's credit stays with it. Press Make a banner again to change the words: it starts again from the plain photo.

Images made with AI

  1. In Write a post, press Create an image with AI.
  2. Describe the picture: the scene, the light, the style. Leave out real people, logos and brand names.
  3. Press Create image (it takes up to a minute), then:
    • Use this image to add it as it is;
    • Add the heading on it to set your topic's heading on the picture: the banner maker opens with the heading filled in (see Banners above), so you can change the words, press Preview, then Use this banner;
    • Try again for a different picture.
  4. Each image uses 4 AI credits (guide 18), or is charged to your own OpenAI key if you added one in Connections > Images. You own the image. Check it carefully before posting.

Your own images

Tick I own this image or have the rights to use it, then choose the file. Use only photos you took, bought, or have permission for, and photos of people only with their permission.

Approvals

  1. Business and platforms > Approvals: tick Hold new posts for approval before they are scheduled. Save.
  2. From now on, posts you write, bulk-upload or plan wait in Scheduled posts marked waiting for approval. Blog promotions and repeats of approved posts are not held.
  3. Open a waiting post to edit its text or time, then press Approve and schedule. If its time has passed, it goes out 10 minutes later.
  4. Home and the daily alert remind you about posts that are waiting past their time.

Client review links

  1. In Scheduled posts, press Send all for client review (or open one post and press Send for client review).
  2. Type who is reviewing, for example "Bella Salon (owner)", and press Send. Copy the link and send it to them by email or message. The same person keeps the same link.
  3. They open it in any browser, with no account, and press Approve or Ask for changes with a comment.
  4. Every 30 minutes (or press Check for client answers now) the app collects their answers:
    • approved posts are scheduled at their time;
    • posts with changes asked stay waiting, with the comment shown. Edit the text and save: the new version goes back to the link for another look.
  5. Cancelled posts come off the link. See all your links, and switch one off, in your account at https://sociorelay.com/account > Client reviews.
  6. If you change a post after the client approved it, it goes back to them to approve the new version.
  7. The website keeps the post text and image only for the review, and deletes them 90 days after the decision.
