Blog - Blogger
Time: 10 minutes. Uses the Google project from guide 06 (do Steps 1, 3 and 4 there first, even without YouTube).
Step 1: Turn on the Blogger API
- In Google Cloud (https://console.cloud.google.com), open your project > APIs & Services > Library.
- Search for Blogger API v3 and click Enable.
- Google Auth Platform > Data access > Add or remove scopes: add
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/blogger. Update and Save.
Step 2: Find the blog id
- Open https://www.blogger.com and choose the blog.
- The address bar shows
...blogID=1234567890...(or/blog/posts/1234567890). Copy the number.
Step 3: Add the website in the app
- Make sure the Google Client ID and Secret are saved (Connections > YouTube and Google Business Profile).
- Blog > Add a website. Blogging system: Blogger.
- Website address: for example
https://yourblog.blogspot.com. Blog id: paste it. Press Save. - Press Log in to Blogger. Choose the Google account that owns the blog and tick every box.
- Press Test connection. It should say "Connected to Blogger blog (name)".
Good to know
- Blogger cannot receive image uploads. Put the header image somewhere public (for example upload it to a Blogger post or Google Photos shared link) and paste its address in Image web address.
- The category becomes a Blogger label.
