Blog - Custom site

Only for websites built with this blog manager. The site must:

1. list its articles in https://yoursite.com/assets/blog-posts.js, and
2. save changes through a passcode-protected https://yoursite.com/blog-save page (used by the site's own blog admin page).

If you are not sure, open https://yoursite.com/assets/blog-posts.js in a browser: you should see a list of articles. If not, use another guide.

Step 1: Add the website in the app

1. Blog > Add a website. Blogging system: Custom site.
2. Website address: for example https://www.yoursite.com.
3. Blog admin passcode: the passcode used on the site's blog admin page.
4. Variable name in blog-posts.js: the name at the top of that file (for example MY_BLOG_POSTS).
5. Field used as page title / meta description: as your blog admin uses them (often seoTitle and metaDescription, or title and excerpt).
6. Press Save, then Test connection. It should say "Read N live articles; passcode saved".

Good to know

1. Before every upload, the live blog list is backed up to blog-backups in the agent folder.
2. The upload stops if the live blog looks smaller than before, to protect existing articles.
3. Articles appear at /blogs/(slug). If your site uses another path, set Article address pattern.
