Canva

Time: 2 minutes to connect. Design an image in Canva and bring it into a post without downloading and uploading.

Status: coming soon. Canva is reviewing the SocioRelay app (sent on 5 November 2026). Until it approves it, Log in to Canva may not work for your account; the 12 ready-made designs in Write a post > Use a design work now.

Connect (once)

  1. In the app, open Connections > Canva and press Log in to Canva.
  2. Sign in on Canva's own page (a free or paid Canva account both work) and press Allow. SocioRelay never sees your Canva password.

Design an image for a post

  1. In Write a post, under Image, press Design in Canva.
  2. Choose the size (Portrait suits Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn; Tall suits Stories, TikTok and YouTube Shorts; Pinterest has its own size).
  3. Tick Start with the post's image to have your chosen image already in the design.
  4. Press Open Canva. Your design opens in a new tab. Design it there; Canva saves as you go.
  5. Come back to SocioRelay and press Bring it in. The design becomes the post's image.

Your last few Canva designs are listed in the same window: Keep editing reopens one in Canva, Bring it in brings the latest version in again.

Good to know

  • Elements, photos and fonts from Canva follow Canva's own licence. Canva Pro elements can only be brought in from a Canva Pro account.
  • Only the first page of a design is brought in.
  • To stop, press Disconnect Canva in Connections > Canva.

Your own Canva integration (Windows app, optional, advanced)

On the hosted app, SocioRelay's own Canva integration is used: just press Log in to Canva. On the Windows app, create your own:

  1. Turn on two-step login for your Canva account, then go to https://www.canva.com/developers/integrations/connect-api and press Create an integration.
  2. Copy the Client ID, generate a Client secret and copy it.
  3. Under Scopes, tick: design:meta:read, design:content:read, design:content:write, asset:read, asset:write and profile:read.
  4. Under Authentication, add the redirect address http://127.0.0.1:8765/callback.
  5. Paste the Client ID and Client secret in Connections > Canva, press Save keys, then Log in to Canva.
