Blog - Drupal

Time: 15 minutes. Needs: Drupal 9, 10 or 11, on https, with administrator access.

Step 1: Turn on the modules

  1. Extend: enable JSON:API, HTTP Basic Authentication and Serialization.
  2. Configuration > Web services > JSON:API: choose Accept all JSON:API create, read, update, and delete operations. Save.

Step 2: Create a user for the agent

  1. People > Add user: for example "social-agent", with a strong password.
  2. Give it a role that can create and publish Article content and use the Full HTML text format.

Step 3: Add the website in the app

  1. Blog > Add a website. Blogging system: Drupal.
  2. Website address: for example https://www.yoursite.com.
  3. Drupal username and Password of the user from Step 2.
  4. Content type: usually article. Text format: full_html (or basic_html). Path before the slug: for example blog.
  5. Press Save, then Test connection.

Good to know

  1. The address is set with the Path module (enabled by default), so articles live at /blog/(slug).
  2. For a header image, put its public address in the article's Image web address.
