Blog - Joomla
Time: 10 minutes. Needs: Joomla 4 or 5, on https, with administrator access.
Step 1: Turn on the API
- In Joomla administrator, open System > Manage > Plugins.
- Search for and enable: Web Services - Content, API Authentication - Web Services Joomla Token, and User - Joomla API Token.
Step 2: Create an API token
- Open Users > Manage, then your user (it must be in the Super Users group).
- Open the Joomla API Token tab and click Generate. Save, then copy the token.
Step 3: Add the website in the app
- Blog > Add a website. Blogging system: Joomla.
- Website address: for example
https://www.yoursite.com. - Paste the Joomla API token. Press Save.
- Press Test connection. It lists categories with their ids.
- Press Settings and set Category id to your blog category. Save.
- Set Article address pattern to match your menu, for example
{url}/blog/{slug}.
Good to know
- Articles are published straight away in the chosen category.
- For a header image, put its public address in the article's Image web address: it is added at the top.
