Bluesky
Time: 10 minutes per brand. Approval: none. Cost: free. No developer app needed. Bluesky copies are up to 300 characters with clickable hashtags. Blog promotions show as a link card with the image.
Step 1: Create the account
- Go to https://bsky.app and click Create account. Use the business email.
- Choose the handle, for example
yourbusiness.bsky.social. - Confirm the email code Bluesky sends.
Step 2: Fill in the profile
- Click Profile > Edit profile.
- Add the logo, a banner, the display name and a bio with your website. (Accounts without a photo rarely get followed.)
Step 3: Make an app password
- Click Settings > Privacy and security > App passwords > Add App Password.
- Name it "Scheduler". Leave Allow access to your direct messages unticked.
- Click Next and copy the password (it is shown once).
Step 4: Connect in the app
- Connections > Bluesky: type the handle and paste the app password for the brand.
- Press Check Bluesky logins. The window lists the connected handle.
Good to know
- The app password is not your main password. Delete it in the same settings page any time to cut access.
- Optional: use your website as the handle (e.g.
@yourbusiness.com): Settings > Account > Handle > I have my own domain, then add the DNS record shown. Update the handle in the app afterwards.
