Blog - Wix
Time: 10 minutes. Needs: a Wix site with the Wix Blog app added, and the site owner's Wix account.
Step 1: Create an API key
- Sign in to Wix and open https://manage.wix.com/account/api-keys (Account settings > API Keys).
- Click Generate API Key. Name it "SocioRelay".
- Under permissions, choose your site and tick Wix Blog (manage blog). Also tick Members (read) so the app can list authors.
- Click Generate Key and copy it. It is shown once.
Step 2: Find the site id
- Open your site's dashboard. The address looks like
manage.wix.com/dashboard/1a2b3c4d-.../home. - Copy the long code after
/dashboard/. That is the site id.
Step 3: Add the website in the app
- Blog > Add a website. Blogging system: Wix.
- Website address: for example
https://www.yoursite.com. - Paste the Wix site id and Wix API key. Press Save.
- Press Test connection. It lists site members with their ids.
- Press Settings and paste the blog author's id into Author member id (usually the owner). Save.
Good to know
- Articles are converted to Wix's own format: headings, paragraphs, lists, bold, italics and links come across. Tables and embedded media do not.
- Wix needs the header image at a public address: upload it to the Wix Media Manager, copy its address and paste it in the article's Image web address.
- Wix blog posts live at
/post/(slug). If your blog uses another path, set Article address pattern. - Test with one article first and check it on the live site.
